Artist co-ops tend to form where three things meet: artists who need affordable, shared working space, a property with room to divide or adapt, and an organizer who can hold the structure together. Most stall not for lack of interest but for lack of a clear model: who holds the lease, how costs are shared, and how members join and leave. This area is for people at any of those points.
- Your role: artist, space holder, co-op member, or property manager
- The space, if any: location, size, and condition
- How many artists are involved, and in which disciplines
- Your timeline and constraints, such as budget or zoning
Answers are read personally. Where they line up with someone else's, the group may introduce the people involved by email, and only with each person's agreement.
