Why people answer yes

The situation behind the question.

Property owners face rising carrying costs, and some are weighing whether a property could serve a public purpose while still paying its own way. Nonprofits, in turn, may want to extend their mission into housing, including for justice-impacted people, without owning the buildings. This area is where those interests can meet, at the conversation stage.

Helpful to include
  • Your role: owner or nonprofit
  • For owners: location, property type, size, and condition
  • For nonprofits: mission, current programs, and capacity
  • Your timeline and constraints

The housing initiative is in planning, and no program or units are currently available. This is not a housing application or referral service. If you need housing assistance now, call 211 or contact your county's housing services.
